Dieser Bericht des Sportkomitees des britischen Parlaments (Unterhaus) macht Schlagzeilen. Sportlegenden wie Bradley Wiggins und sein Team Sky und Lord Coe (IAAF-Präsident und Cheforganisator der Sommerspiele 2012) werden schwer belastet.

When Lord Coe appeared before the Committee in December 2015 he sought to distance himself from any knowledge of the allegations of doping in Russian athletics, before the details were exposed in the German documentary. His answers to us about this were misleading: Lord Coe may not have read the email and attachments sent to him by David Bedford, whose actions we commend, but it stretches credibility to believe that he was not aware, at least in general terms, of the main allegations that the Ethics Commission had been asked to investigate. It is certainly disappointing that Lord Coe did not take the opportunity, given to him by David Bedford, to make sure he was fully informed of the serious issues at stake in the Shobukhova case and their wider implications for the governance of the anti-doping rules at the IAAF. ese are matters of the greatest seriousness and a ect the reputation of both the IAAF and Lord Coe, and we commend David Bedford for his stance and evidence in shedding more light on this sad state of a airs. We wish, in the future, to see rigorous systems in place to deal with such matters and individuals acting with curiosity and concern when presented with compelling, important evidence.

The Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee has published its report on combatting doping in sport.

The Committee’s long inquiry has relied on detailed oral and written evidence, academic research, investigative journalism, and whistle-blowers.

This report highlights the failure of sports bodies in their governance and policing of anti-doping rules.

The sporting bodies the Committee has looked at have demonstrated poor record keeping and poor medicines policies. There should be tighter guidelines on the use of medicines that can affect performance.

The Committee calls for legislation to be introduced to criminalise the supply of drugs to sports people with intent to enhance performance.

The Committee believes that UKAD requires greater powers and resources to conduct investigations and enforce the rules.

Die Produktion des Magazins verzögert sich leider. Habe nach den Winterspielen eine komplette Woche im Bett verbringen müssen. Und nehme heute überrascht und gar nicht erfreut zur Kenntnis, dass wegen einer technischen Panne mein Telekomvertrag gekündigt ist und ich bis mindestens Wochenende daheim offline bin. Der Mobilvertrag hilft mir hier draußen kaum, wo meist nur Edge-Verbindung besteht, wenn überhaupt. Laut Telekom gehe ich in fünf Tagen wieder ans Netz. Wie ich bis dahin produktiv arbeiten soll, weiß ich nicht. Bemühe mich aber.

Es wird also noch mindestens eine Woche dauern, ehe ich Vollzug melden kann. Tut mir leid. So ist das manchmal in Einmann-Unternehmen.
